Supplemental Education Services

A major and critical measure of district and academy performance is expressed through the Annual Yearly Progress (AYP) reports. This analysis is a measure used to hold schools and districts accountable for student achievement in Reading and Mathematics. AYP in Michigan is based upon the Michigan Educational Assessment Program (MEAP) results, student participation ratios in the MEAP process and student attendance or graduation rates. Currently, the Elementary Academy have not met AYP requirements. The Elementary is classified as being in Phase 3 of improvement. The consequences related to these phases are comprehensive and have required that our district responds with Supplemental Educational Services (SES) activities. These services provide additional tutorial support to eligible students without a charge to parents. For more information, or to make arrangements to secure these services, parents may contact our SES Coordinator, Crystal Matthews at (313) 259-1744.

The following approved companies are working with our district to assist us in this process:

  • W. Salome Learning
  • Sylvan Learning Centers
  • Class Act Tutoring & Educational Services, LLC
  • EduTech Mobile Learning Center
  • EduTech Cognitive Therapy & Tutorial Services
  • Achieving Maximum Potential (AMP), LLC
  • Higher Ground Program
  • MI Learning Limited
